A Historic Venue

Gupshill Manor has a long history and has been a significant part of Tewkesbury for centuries. Originally built in 1431 on the site of an earlier house known as Globes Hall, the manor played a role in the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471, one of the last battles of the Wars of the Roses. Each year, a re-enactment of the battle takes place nearby.

The manor has experienced two major fires, one in the late 17th century and another in the early 1900s, which reduced its size. Some of the original stonework, visible around the fireplaces, was taken from Tewkesbury Monastery during the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII.

In the 1950s, Gupshill Manor was converted into a public house. Since then, it has undergone various refurbishments, creating the welcoming venue that exists today. With a focus on locally sourced ingredients, it has built a reputation for its food and wine selection. Suppliers such as Ben Creese Butchers and DJ Perks & Sons Fruit and Veg provide much of the produce used in its kitchen.

The function room, separate from the main building, offers a setting well suited for live performances, where audiences can experience the sound of a full big band in a comfortable space.
